The Lord of Miracles, Christ of Pachacamilla, Purple Christ, Christ of Wonders, Christ Moreon or Lord of the Tremors is an image of the Lord Jesus miraculously painted on an adobe wall located in the High Altar of the Sanctuary of Las Nazarenas of Lima. In the mid-17th century the blacks of Angola formed the brotherhood of Pachacamilla and built a building where one of them painted on the wall the precious image of Christ. On November 13, 1655, a strong earthquake shook Lima and Callao, bringing down many buildings and causing thousands of deaths. All the walls of the Angolan Brotherhood fell, but the adobe wall with the image of the Christ remained perfectly standing, which was considered a true miracle. Each year the faith of those calling on the Lord of Miracles has increased, and today his procession through the streets of Lima in October brings together millions of people from different parts of the world.
