First Steps
Infant/Young Child Baptism
- Fill out the Baptismal Application online form.
- Contact Luis Vides at the Parish Office to schedule a Baptism Preparation class. Please email Luis at [email protected] or call him at 301-977-5492.
- Call the Parish Office or email [email protected] to schedule the Baptism.
Child (over 8 years)/Teen Baptism- Call our Office of Religious Formation at 301-977-7990 for more information about our RCIA/RCIT programs.
First Holy Communion- Register your child for First Holy Communion Preparation beginning in first grade, in order to receive the sacrament in second grade.

Confirmation- Register your child for Confirmation Preparation beginning in seventh grade, in order to receive the sacrament in eighth grade.

Infant Baptism
The birth of a child is one of the greatest miracles! Your child is a gift from God and a sign of His infinite love for you. God has entrusted this child to you to love, nurture, teach, guide and protect. Through baptism your child will be reborn as a child of God through water and the Holy Spirit, immersed in His love, enlightened with grace, set free from sin and death, and welcomed into God's family, the Church. Baptism is one of the most important events in your child's life. Thank you for choosing to share our faith with your child!
The first step in having your child baptized is to fill out the Baptismal Application online. Contact Luis Vides at the Parish Office to schedule a Baptism Preparation class. Luis may be emailed at [email protected] or called at 301-977-5492.
Classes are usually held on the first Saturday of every month in English, and the first Monday of the month in Spanish.Note: Baptisms will only be scheduled after ALL paperwork has been received..
First Holy Communion
Preparation of First Communion and First Reconciliation is a very important time for a child and their family as we prepare our children for a lifetime of receiving Jesus, body, blood, soul, and divinity in the Holy Eucharist.
Our First Communion preparation program takes two years. In addition to classroom instruction, we have several family-centered activities planned to help you and your child have a positive and rewarding experience. Please call our Office of Religious Formation at 301-977-7990 for more information.
Confirmation
Confirmation completes a Catholic's initiation into the faith. You are sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and are strengthened to continue your journey within the faith! You must have received the Sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion to receive this Sacrament.
Preparation is a multi-dimensional process combining various techniques such as classroom discussion and reflection, home study, service projects, liturgical rites, events with parents and sponsors, and a day long retreat. Sacramental preparation for Confirmation is a two year process that begins in seventh grade, and culminates with reception of the sacrament in the spring of 8th grade. Teen/Adult
We have great programs especially created for those receiving their sacraments as older children or adults. Our RCIA, RCIT, and RCIC classes are uniquely designed to help you receive your sacraments and enter more fully into the life of the church.For school aged children and teens, please the Religious Formation at 301-977-7990 for more information on our RCIC and RCIT programs.
