Members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVdP) at St. John Neumann Parish have been very busy this month.
First of all we would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the parishioners of St. John Neumann whose generosity make our care and concern possible.
Highlights of our activities: As usual we have assisted several members of the parish with rent and utilities assistance to prevent eviction and power cut-offs. These bills were incurred due to job furloughs.
With the advent of the COVID - 19 we have been very busy. We have provided diapers to several moms in addition to food for a family who had a member in the hospital with the virus and a second member of the family who just had a new infant.
We have procured over 3,400 masks for first responders and nursing homes. For the usual home bound, we have delivered prescriptions and food in addition to phone calls checking on their needs. Our largest area of focus has been on food. We delivered over two tons of food to St. Martin Food Pantry. In addition we have set up a food pantry here at St. John Neumann in the Parish Center which currently holds 1,000 lb of food. We have already distributed food to nearly 50 families.
Most important right now is prayer. We are so fortunate to be able to continue Eucharist Adoration.
Thank you Msgr. Panke , Fr. Sweeney and Fr. Bill for your total support.
