Parish Life

The St. John Neumann Men's Ministry strives to inflame the love of Christ in men of the parish, as we seek to become:

• Men of Prayer, through participation in the sacramental life - regular Mass attendance, adoration, confession - and through the promotion of educational programs such as That Man Is You!, bible studies, daily virtual Rosary, monthly evenings of reflection, and other opportunities to enter into a life of deeper prayer.

• Men of the Parish, through involvement in lay ministries - such as ushers, lectors, extraordinary ministers of holy communion, catechists, etc. - and handy assistance in projects around the parish. This is our home away from home, and we seek to serve and take care of it!

• Men of Purpose, through discernment of opportunities to serve our families, our communities, and the world.

All Africans are invited to worship, fellowship, and share our African culture every 2nd Saturday of the month from 10:30 to 12:30 P.M. in the Blue Room.

Please join us! Our mission: United in the love of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to including and serving the needs of persons with developmental differences into our Catholic community.

The Blessed Margaret of Costello Special Needs Ministry at St. John Neumann welcomes persons with disabilities and their families fully into the life of our spiritual community and to provide spiritual and social programs that will promote that goal by offering new opportunities for people with and without disabilities to come together to worship, learn, and enjoy themselves.

Liturgy:

• Join us by being a greeter,usher, reader

Education:

• Sacramental preparation
• Adapted curriculum for individuals with diverse needs
• Church and community resources

Prayer:

• Pray for our ministry and individuals with developmental differences
• Sign up to donate an hour of your time in the adoration chapel with the intention of praying for our ministry, its members and our parish family

Social:

• Meet other St. John Neumann families with and without family members with disabilities.

We regularly host events that provide regular opportunities for parishioners to get to know each other. All are welcome!  Check our website and bulletin for upcoming events throughout the year.

A sample of some of our events that occur through the year include:

• Celebrate Summer Series:  The date, menu and activities vary from year to year, but food and fellowship are always in abundance.

• Italian Night: Held in May.  It’s an event the whole Parish looks forward to.

• Fall Family Fun Fest:  October fun for the whole family at the Neumann House yard.  Lots of fun activities for the children.

• Oktoberfest:  Held in October.  Fun, fun time; great food, German band, dancing!

• Knights of Columbus Chili Cook-off: Usually held in November, enter your chili to win, or just join in the fun of tasting!

• Knights of Columbus Breakfast with Saint Nicholas:  Held in early December, it is an event enjoyed by kids and grown-ups alike!

• Coffee and Donuts Socials: Usually held once a month after the 8 A. M., 9:30 A. M. and 11:15 A.M. Sunday Masses from September through May. It gives parishioners a chance to socialize and meet new members of the Parish.
