On June 3rd we began renovating the old rectory offices. The Archdiocese approached me asking if those offices could be turned into a space to house up to five first-year seminarians during the summer. The seminarians will live together in community and primarily serve one or two of the youth camps in the area, and be visible on the weekends to the parish. Outside the summer months, the space will be made available to priests who need a free day to be with brother priests or to spend some time in quiet and prayer. Many of our priests do not have family in the area or a place to go to get some rest. It will be a great service to the mental and spiritual health of our priests. We hope to finish the project by the end of August.
NEED FOR FUNDS
The Archdiocese gave us a very generous grant towards the project but we are still in need of about $50,000 to fully fund and furnish the house. Please prayerfully consider what you could contribute to assist us with this exciting project as we continue forming better seminarians and better priests.
