Marriage and Holy Orders, though lived differently, have the same goal of leading people to union with God, which is the Kingdom of God.
Marriage
The sacrament of marriage is a visible sign of God’s love for the Church. When a man and a woman are married in the Church, they receive the grace needed for a lifelong bond of unity.
Couples seeking to be married in the Church must with a priest or deacon at least 6 months in advance of their intended wedding date. This is the first step in preparing for your future as husband and wife, and should be done prior to any other reception or invitation arrangements. Please call the Rectory Office at
301-977-5492 to schedule an appointment. One of the individuals must be a registered parishioner of St. John Neumann
.
Holy Orders
Holy Orders is conferred on those who feel called to lead the Church as deacons, priests or bishops. Men or boys interested in serving the Church in an ordained ministry should feel free to discuss the matter with a priest or deacon who can guide them in discerning and preparing for their vocation.
We are currently blessed to have several young men and women in formation to become priests, religious brothers and sisters. Please keep them in your prayers.
